After the deductible is met you may be reimbursed (depending on your plan) a portion of the fee charged. I will provide you with a superbill which outlines diagonis, procedure codes and receipt of payment. You then submit this along with your insurance claim form to your insurance company. What is the Frequent Flyer *Discounted Rate?

I have been helping people live healthier, happier lives for 10 years, and the number one predictor of lasting success is commitment and consistency. You will experience noticeable and lasting change with regular and reliable support. Sporadic sessions (at least in the beginning) are not an efficient investment for most clients. Often purchasing a package of sessions allows clients to be more consistent and thus leads to better outcomes. That being said, as a mental health professional, I never want my clients to be feel pressured into purchasing a package of sessions. It is my duty and responsibility follow your lead to determine how many sessions you want to commit to, you are the expert of you! In an effort to give my clients options, I offer "Frequent Flyer" Reduced Rates. These reduced rates are for clients who commit to 8 sessions within a 2 month time span, give or take (I am flexible with illness/holidays etc...) >Four or more 60 minute sessions per month rate is $145/session. >Four or more 75 minute sessions per month rate is $160/session. >If you would like to pay for full month of sessions up front rather than per session, that is an option if that helps you stay committed to making and keeping appointments. At the end of the 8th session, we will evaluate if your goals have been met, what's working, what's not, we will decide on the furture pace of therapy, and I will offer any necessary referrals or treatment plan adjustments. Please don't hesitate to Contact Me if you have further questions.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

I want nothing more than for clients to experience noticeable improvements in the health of their mind and their body. For this reason if the cost of sessions is getting in the way of a client being able to afford to work with me, I am open, on a case by case basis, to discussing the possibility of offering a sliding scale for some clients. Please don't hesitate to Contact Me if you have further questions.

How do you incorporate exercise with remote clients?

I use secure video or phone with remote clients. I focus the first portion of the session on exercise. Depending on the client this could include planks, push ups, high intensity intervals, squats, mountain climbers, as well as mat pilates, yoga & chi gong. It's amazing what a short yet efficient workout does for the mind and body. No equipment required, but I do encourage some clients to purchase resistance bands and light weight dumbbells. Remote clients are encourage to find a private nature setting where they can hike/walk/sit while having a phone session (local park or backyard works great!). If that is not possible I encourage remote clients to find a window to gaze out of during the therapy portion of the session.

What's the difference between a therapist and a coach?

As you read in my bio, I am a licensed psychotherapist and a certified coach. As a practitioner who has dedicated my life to a profession of helping people, I have committed myself to enriching my skillset so that I am best able to serve a wide range of clients with a wide range of challenges. As such, being trained as both a therapist and coach has enhanced my practice and has benefitted all of my clients. There are overlaps and distinctions between coaching and therapy. The most significant distinction (as it relates to my practice) is that some of my therapy clients are struggling with a diagnosable condition and are therefore interested in a diagnostic assessment. As a licensed psychotherapist I can conduct diagnostic assessments. Another significant difference is that if a therapy client has a diagnosable condition, sessions with me can be submitted to their insurance and/or flex spending account to reimbursed (all or a portion of the session fee). There are also subtle and not so subtle similarities & differences in the modalities & approaches used when coaching a client versus conducting a therapy session. It is fortunate that I can and offer my clients the best of what each training has to offer. Learn more about coaching vs psychotherapy

How long does treatment last?

Research and anecdotal evidence have proven that frequency and consistency are essential for successful treatment. If after session one, it feels like a good fit, clients will commit to at least 12 sessions. We’ll check in on progress every single week, and at the end of the 12th session, we’ll evaluate if you’ve reached your goals and are feeling better. At the end of those 12 weeks clients either graduate from therapy, finish out services with a referral to someone else, or we continue to work together on another identified concern. 90% of my clients are ready to terminate treatment at the end of 12 weeks with the understanding that they can reach out for extra support as needed.

What if it's not working?

Typically, people begin to feel better by session 2 or session 3. If things aren’t improving by session 6 or 7, we will change things up by shifting the approach to make sure that it’s a good fit. And if we decide together that we’re not making progress at the rate we want, we’ll look at referring you out to another therapist or other resources.
